GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
SCHEDULED AT TRI VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM
Tri Valley Health System will host a
community groundbreaking ceremony for their new hospital
facility on Sunday September 13th.
The event will take place on the south side of
Cambridge Memorial Hospital, located on highway 6 and
34. A picnic
style lunch will start the event, with the serving line
opening at 12 Noon, followed by a short program at 1:00
p.m., an opportunity to view an architectural drawing of
a new patient room, and a walking tour of the building
site.
Tri Valley Health System‘s
construction schedule calls for the new hospital to be
open to for patients in September of next year.
CEO, Roger Steinkruger stated “Breaking ground is
a symbolic milestone for the project, which we started
several years ago with study, speculation, deliberation
and feasibility studies.
This is a very exciting time for Healthcare in
our Tri Valley Health System service area!”
Hospital Board
Chairman, Randy Heitmann adds “We are very excited to
see the work underway on our new campus and move ahead,
especially in troubled economic times.
Our new facility will offer patients from the
entire region state-of-the-art healthcare, in a very
convenient location and comfortable setting.”
The current Cambridge Memorial
Hospital has served the area for over 50 years.
The new hospital will provide space for new and
expanded outpatient services, relocation of Physical
Therapy and the Cambridge Medical Clinic, and the
current Downtown Center offices to the new building;
improvement in OB services and the development of a
common nursing station for centralized management of
acute, emergency and OB services.
“We will also be expanding the Surgery
Department, the Medical Laboratory, Imaging and
Cardiopulmonary Departments.
The overall design will enhance patient privacy
and provide expansion opportunities to accommodate
future growth”, Steinkruger added.
The project is anticipated to
encompass 53,000 square feet of new construction at a
total estimated project cost of $21,800,000. The plan
also includes the eventual renovation of nearly 3,200
square feet of the current facility.
Board Chairman Heitmann noted that of
the total project cost, “$18,300,000 will be financed
through GNMA [Ginnie Mae], with mortgage-backed
securities, that will be insured through what is
referred to as the FHA 242 Hospital Mortgage Insurance
Program. The
remaining balance in funding will be sought from other
sources such as grants, philanthropy and hospital
reserves.”
Tri Valley
Health System CT Scanner to Move
With No Service
Disruption
Tri Valley Health System, Director of
Imaging Services, Ross Ebbers has announced that the
16-Slice CT Scanner at Cambridge Memorial Hospital will
be temporarily moved to facilitate the building of the
new hospital.
According to Ebbers, the CT will be removed from
the building on September 16th and relocated
to the south end of the patient wing, where it will
remain until it will be moved again when the new
hospital is completed in the fall of next year.
“There will need to be some site prep-work and a
foundation completed prior to the 16th”
Ebbers continued
“The CT will then be moved back into the building
on the 22nd, and if all goes as planned, will
be in use again by the 24th. “
Ebbers stresses that during this move there will
be no disruption of CT Services at Tri Valley Health
System, as a mobile unit identical to the one at
Cambridge Memorial Hospital will be located on site for
the entire duration of the move.
If you have any questions or concerns, please
feel free to contact Ebbers, or any member of the
Imaging team at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
